“I am a single mother of two children, ages 14 and eight. I am on assistance for healthcare through our state and I rely heavily on this assistance. I would not be able to take care of myself or my boys medically without the assistance, so it’s a major relief in our life. However, we were out of state visiting family and my son needed to go to the emergency room. I had no idea that our insurance would not work because we were not in state. They accepted my insurance and everything seemed fine, until I got a bill for $2000. This was a huge burden for me, as I have no way to pay for that. I recently received a letter from our Undue Medical Debt stating that my debt was purchased and paid for by anonymous donor who generously paid for the debt and took it off my shoulders. I’ve never heard of anything like this and I was so shocked that someone who doesn’t know me would help me out in such a significant way. I can’t say thank you enough, as this is a huge relief in a change in my life! The work that you do through this organization is just amazing and I I am so incredibly grateful! Thank you for the help that you do. Medical debt can literally ruin a family’s life, and the gracious help you provided changed mine. Thank you so much!”
